The Preschool Experience

Children who are developmentally ready will participate in our Preschool Program. Children will be involved in activities based on the A-Beka Academic Curricula and Virginia Building Blocks of Learning. This research based curriculum offers children excellent opportunities to play and have fun, while building skills they will need.

Diversity and varied experiences are highly valued learning tools. Students participate in an immersion style weekly Spanish lesson where they review recently learned information in Spanish. They also explore the Spanish culture and make use of conversational Spanish during sessions taught by volunteers from the Radford University Spanish Language Program.

Preschool lessons focus on:

It is our goal to stimulate and challenge each child and to foster a love for the learning process.

**Please note: During the school year (late Aug-May), it is most beneficial if preschool children attend at least 9:00am – 12:30pm consistently.

Along with academic skills, students will also continue work on social skills including displaying good manners, sharing, cooperative play, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
