Two Year Olds

Our two-year-old class enjoys a variety of “hands-on” activities throughout the year. Language enhancement and development of listening skills are primary goals. Teachers involve the children in opportunities to increase attention span and build on their curiosity about the world around them. A multi-sensory curriculum is used through which simple counting; number concepts, letter recognition and basic phonics are introduced. Each week we’ll expose the children to a new letter around which all the morning activities will be based. Children will also be provided activities to promote fine and gross motor development, dramatic play, sensory play and social/emotional development.

A sheet is sent home daily with each child’s information concerning what they ate, when he or she slept, tried to potty, etc.

Children in this group are at all different stages regarding potty-training, and this is not used as a criterion for entrance to this group or transition out of this group. We attempt to work with you as a family, to bring consistency within your child’s potty experiences, while complying with the health regulations.
